About

A bit about team Maison du chocolate

Maison du chocolate was set up in 2020. Owner, Claire, has always had a passion for cooking and food having worked in restaurants before running her own cookery school. Claire is our chocolatier, marketing manager, photographer, videographer, recipe creator, box maker, stock manager, ideas creator, the person who emails you about your orders and generally every other job going!

Sweet treats have always been a passion and we love learning new skills and regularly update our chocolate skills taking annual courses to enhance skills and to provide you with exquisite treats.

We are a family run business supported by husband James who you may see on local deliveries, or picking up forgotten ingredients, he is a speedy dunker when we are in a pinch. He is a superstar, but gets all the rubbish jobs, and does them anyway because hes amazing!

Coming in for close competition for King of dunking is Alfie who enjoys honeycomb dunking and was the inspiration for our White Chocolate Honeycomb, Alfie helps out when we are busy if we can tear him away from his lego! He also enjoys helping at markets over the Christmas period you may have spotted him at Port Solent!

And last but not least we have our chief taste tester Lucy who is honest and sometimes savage with her reviews on new flavours, but wants to make sure everything is the highest quality! We can occasionally convince her to help out on market stalls, where she is amazing at chatting with customers and organising the stock so it looks pretty, as long as she is allowed to pop off and do a bit of shopping herself, but would easily spend more than we make, so this on happens on rare occasions!

This is Team Maison Du chocolate, we are just a little family working together to make some amazing products.

Product Life

If you don't eat them the day they arrive...

Our chocolates are best stored in a cool, dark and dry space. They are great at room temperature, around 16-20c. We do not recommend refrigeration as this can cause condensation of the chocolate.. We recommend consumption within 14 days however some products will be edible for up to 3 months. or more, each item will be individually labelled.

Allergy Advice

Our chocolates are prepared in a home kitchen which handles Peanuts, other nuts, soy, gluten, sesame, sulphites and milk products. Our dark chocolate is suitable for vegans. Whilst we make every effort to avoid cross contamination, if you have a severe allergy to any of the above, then our chocolates may be unsuitable for you.

If you have any specific questions or concerns about allergies, please contact us via email on info@maisonduchocolate.co.uk

Packaging

Trying to be Green

Our aim is to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Our boxes are recyclable, our cello bags are made from sustainable wood and the cushion pad is made from glassine faced kraft paper both of which are biodegradable. We proud to announce our trays are now biodegradable too.

The ribbon we use for our boxes is made from recycled bottle tops.

When sending items in the post we may use boxes that we have received items in, however the chocolates inside will have new packaging. If you would prefer we can supply new postal boxes at no extra cost.
